Student Internship Program

The Student Internship Program for the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office, District of New Mexico, provides an opportunity for enrolled college students to acquire hands-on experience in the Criminal Justice field and provides a stimulating and beneficial learning experience.

Students must be willing and able to complete a minimum of one semester up to a one-year commitment. The responsibilities associated with the field of probation requires knowledge from many disciplines including psychology, social work, education, business management, and counseling, as well as sub-specialties including computer literacy, substance abuse, mental health, investigative techniques, effective writing, and training.

Our internship program prepares students to enter an inspiring and challenging field that requires commitment, creativity, and competency across many disciplines.
